Tan Son Nhat Airport was crowded with people on January 18 as thousands of passengers arrive and people waiting for their family members. Many people had to sit on the ground. Nguyen Thi Truc said all six members of her family went to Tan Son Nhat Airport to greet her sister returning from Taiwan.

Pham Hoang Thanh and his wife, Nguyen Thi Tuoi, returned home after two years working in South Korea. Thanh said both he and his wife had to leave behind two daughters who are just four and 10 years old.

"All the fatigue and worries disappeared after we saw our daughters. We are happy beyond words," he said.

Nguyen Van Vinh from Long An Province immediately went to his wife and daughter. Vinh said he was a mechanic in Japan and this is the first time he returned home after two years.
