The display will present part of a collection belonging to Marek Wysoczynski – director of the Bureau for the Promotion of Culture of Gdansk City, Poland.

Wysoczynski is also the initiator and director of Project Smile, which aims to put a smile on the faces and inside the hearts of disabled children and people who have suffered throughout their lives.

Pursuing this purpose, Wysoczynski has been collecting the autographs of famous people for many years. Smiling is just a simple act, but according to Wysoczynski, it can have a major positive impact on people in everyday life.

His enthusiasm has been shared by many celebrities such as Jim Carrey, Michael Jackson and Diego Maradona, who have supported his cause by donating their smile autographs to his project.

Before travelling to Viet Nam, these "smiles" have been displayed in different countries, including Poland, Austria, Spain, France, Hungary, Egypt, China and Mexico, drawing a significant number of viewers.

Project Smile mainly targets underprivileged children, so the smile autographs were also brought to hospitals like the Children's Cancer Hospital in Cairo and a pediatrics hospital in China.

Wysoczynski said the smiles could help to reduce the pain and give children more energy and confidence.

The free exhibition in Viet Nam, hosted by the Polish Embassy on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Poland's accession to the EU, will take place at the Exhibition Hall, 16 Ngo Quyen Street, from May 2-8.

Alongside the show, Wysoczynski will be accompanied by singer Ngoc Khue on a visit to the SOS Children's Village, where, together with the children, he will draw their own smiles.

He will also meet students of the Viet Nam-Poland High School.
