The event will be held to mark the first anniversary of the inauguration of Ho Guom Opera House, People’s Artist Nguyen Cong Bay, director of the Opera House, said at a press conference in the capital on June 6.

Katherine Jenkins is a Welsh singer who is a mezzo-soprano and performs operatic arias, popular songs, musical theatre, and hymns.

She first came to mainstream public attention in 2003 when she sang at Westminster Cathedral in honour of Pope John Paul II's silver jubilee. Since 2004, she has released numerous albums that have performed well on British and foreign charts.

In both 2005 and 2006, her albums received a Classic Brit Award as Album of the Year. She has since sung at major sporting events, on television shows, and in support of many charities.

The July 10 concert will see the Welsh singer perform alongside the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra and Saigon Pops Orchestra.

Also at a press conference, People’s Artist Nguyen Cong Bay unveiled music programmes of Ho Guom Opera House until the end of the year.

The Mozart Concert will be organised on August 23 - 24, featuring the presence of Swedish singer Sofia and French instrument ensemble Les Musiciens du Louvre.

Artists from the Orchestre de l'Opéra Royal de Versailles (Royal Theater of Versailles Symphony Orchestra) will return to Ho Guom Opera House with the Four Seasons concert on September 11 - 12.

Furthermore, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra will hold The Vienna Concert on November 23 - 24.

The Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNOB) will perform a new version of Carmen, one of the most popular operas in the world, on July 16 and the musical La Traviata on August 9 - 10 at Ho Guom Opera House.
