VietNamNet Bridge – At least six people were killed and 10 injured in a serious accident involving two coaches at about 4am on Monday morning in the southern province of Tay Ninh.

A 16-seater coach travelling in the HCM City-Tay Ninh direction collided with another 45-seater coach travelling in the opposite direction. The accident occurred on a section passing through Truong Mit Commune, Duong Minh Chau District.

The 16-seater coach was reportedly distorted and its roof was broken while the front part of the other coach was damaged.

According to initial information, all those who died on the spot, including one of the drivers, were travelling on the 16-seater coach. The injured are being treated at Tay Ninh General Hospital and Cu Chi General Hospital.

A witness told the media, “I heard a loud explosion on the road while I was asleep. Running out, I saw a terrible scene -- many people dead on the spot and the injured screaming and crying”

The victims were traveling from An Giang Province to Tay Ninh Province to visit a pagoda on Ba Den Mountain.

The accident is being investigated further.
