Song and theatrical performances were the highlights of the festival, which featured junior and high school students from Dong Da Junior School and Viet Duc High School in Ha Noi.
The festival also featured the Science Slam – a popular conference in Germany that made its debut in Ha Noi. Organised by the German Academic Exchange Service, it gave young scientists a chance to present their scientific projects. The presentations were marked on creativity, presentation and how enlightening they were for audiences.
The winner of the Science Slam was Doctor Le Quang Hanh from the University of Transport and Communications. His project Mobile Multi-Side Construction Project Management for Developing Countries earned him a Dell laptop from the event's organiser.
Two other prizes including an iPod and a music CD were awarded to Bui Bich Thuy and Nguyen Bich Phuong from Viet Nam National University. The students shot films on their mobile phones titled I Love Germany and German Characteristics in Viet Nam.
Festival-goers also had the chance to attend trial German lessons given by native lecturers, along with a quiz show, games and competition with attractive prizes.
Nguyen Thanh Phuc, a student at Dong Da Junior School, said he loves learning German.
"In addition, all of us from the sixth grade are really excited to play games at the festival," said Phuc.
