FIFA president Gianni Infantino has sent a heartfelt New Year greeting to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and its president Tran Quoc Tuan, expressing appreciation for their collaboration throughout 2025 and anticipation for a historic year ahead.
In his message, sent ahead of the 2026 New Year celebrations, Infantino extended his best wishes and conveyed gratitude for the close and effective partnership between VFF and FIFA during a year marked by major global football events.

Infantino emphasized that 2026 will be a milestone year, as the FIFA World Cup will be held for the first time in history with 48 national teams. The tournament is scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with Canada, Mexico, and the United States serving as co-hosts.
“The World Cup is not only the greatest football festival on the planet,” Infantino wrote, “but also a platform that connects nations and spreads values of peace, solidarity, and friendship.”
Concluding the letter, the FIFA president extended his warmest New Year wishes to VFF president Tran Quoc Tuan and his family. He also reaffirmed FIFA’s commitment to continue working closely and collaboratively with Vietnamese football in the time ahead.
