Two French movies “Le Roi et L’oiseau” & “Antigang” will be screened at Institut Français de Hanoi – L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi on September 30th and October 2nd.

Le Roi et L’oiseau (October 2nd)

This animation classic is a great song about love and freedom that brings the Andersen fairy tale back to life.

Many ages have passed, Andersen fairy tale “Le roi et l’oiseau” has proved as a hauntingly powerful story. The plot tells about the cruel king who prohibits romance between the shepherd girl and the chimney cleaning boy. Meanwhile, a bird defends the couple. The animation debuts in 1979 is considered as one of the masterpieces of French animation cinema, is a song about love and freedom in places where dictation exists. The unique film of this work had nearly broken and disappeared forever. In 2001, the restoration of the film is started and lasted two years, which help rescuing the classic.
