A resolution on Hue's exit was adopted by the NA after 85.94 per cent of deputies present at the meeting agreed with the proposal.

Hue has been assigned to head the Central Committee of the Communist Party's Economic Commission, a role he began earlier this year. He was General State Auditor for five years before being appointed as Minister of Finance at the 13th NA's first session in August 2011. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung yesterday proposed that the vacant Finance Minister post be filled by Dinh Tien Dung, who is currently the General State Auditor. The NA will vote on PM's proposal today.

Residence law

Yesterday morning, deputies heard the Government's statement on the proposed revision of some articles of the residence law.

The statement said that the law is outdated and should be reformed due to the many shortcomings occurring in State residential management.

According to the bill, people who want to register for permanent residency in provinces and cities under the Central Government have to live there without interruption for two years as a temporary resident. Under the terms of the bill, the procedure for legally changing a permanent place of residence would be reduced from 24 months to 12.

The deputies also heard the NA Law Committee's statement about the NA's law and ordinance building programme in 2014.
