The event’s theme is “The New Spirit”, which focuses on amateur and professional artists aged 18 to 45.
It aims to encourage artists, particularly young people, to create works that reflect new trends.
“We face challenges in exhibiting our works. Local authorities should help artists display their art. Art camps and contests should be organised with priority," said sculptor Nguyễn Hoài Huyền Vũ, winner of the HCM City Biennale Youth Fine Arts 2017.
The participants of HCM City Biennale Youth Fine Arts 2019 should send their works of sculpture and painting to the organiser before March 20.
Submissions should be original works and not be exhibited publicly.
After two selective rounds, final creations will be chosen by veteran artists of the association, the Việt Nam Fine Arts Association and HCM City University of Fine Arts.
The works will be shown at the HCM City Fine Arts Museum from April 20 to 30.
The awards ceremony will be organised at the museum, 97A Phó Đức Chính Street, District 1, on April 30. — VNS
