Vietnam’s first artwork auction will be held in Hanoi on May 28, which expects to attract up to 40 bidders.
A pair of ornamental jars created by artist Pham Anh Dao - an item for auction in Hanoi on May 28.
The items for auction include three paintings – “Hanh phuc” (Happiness) by Hoang Phuong Vy, “Tien nu vung cao” (Mountain fairy) by Quach Dong Phuong and “Ben dong song do” (By the red river) by Dao Hai Phong. These painting will have prices starting at between 50 and 120 million VND (2,243 - 5,384 USD).
The event also features a pair of ornamental jars created by artist Pham Anh Dao, with an initial value set at between 900 million VND and one billion VND (40,383 – 44,870 USD).
Painter Le Thiet Cuong will bring to the auction an altar dating back to the 19 th century, with the starting price expected to be between 65 and 80 million VND (2,916 – 3,589 USD).
The auction is organised by Lac Viet auction company.
The organising board is receiving applications to bid from May 15 to 28.
