Sa Dec City is now home to 950 hectares of flowers, up 222.8 hectares against the end of last year, with around 2,000 kinds of flowers. The majority are located in Tan Quy Dong Ward and Tan Khanh Dong Commune with 320 hectares and 324 hectares respectively.

The province has upgraded Sa Dec Square where the festival will take place.

The festival will include an exhibition of flowers and ornamental trees from the Mekong Delta region, a contest on flower gate decorations, and a workshop on improving the overall quality of flowers and ornamental trees among other activities.

Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy cải lương (reformed opera) and đờn ca tài tử (southern traditional music) shows.

Dong Thap currently has 4,000 flower and ornamental tree growing households, up by 1,000 against late 2022.
