VietNamNet Bridge – The organizing board of the Dancing with the Stars 2012 has apologized singer Lan Anh, after two contestants “borrowed” Lan Anh’s voice in their performance in the opening show last Sunday.



In the opening show on March 18, singers Minh Quan and Minh Hang’s “The phantom of the opera” performance impressed the audience. In the show, the two singers lip-synced because they had to focus on acting. The audience was surprised by the high tone of Minh Hang, an idol singer who is said to have weak and thin voice.

After the show, senior singer Lan Anh said that it was her voice at the climax of Minh Quan and Minh Hang’s performance. She explained that several months ago, she recorded “The phantom of the opera” with Minh Quan at Minh Quan’s studio so this singer had her record.

The organizing board of the Dancing with the Star has immediately given an apology to Lan Anh. The organizers explained that the record used in the show was completely performed by Minh Hang. However, it was mixed with Minh Quan and Lan Anh’s vocal parts, in a bid to make Minh Hang’s voice thicker, especially at the climax.

The organizer stressed that Minh Hang was innocent in this incident. “She only recorded the song at Minh Quan’s instruction. Minh Quan produced the last record to use in the opening show,” they wrote in a press release. The organizers said that they did not know about this.

Singer Minh Quan admitted that he used Lan Anh’s vocal as parts for Minh Hang and this was his own idea. He explained that before the opening show, Minh Hang was worried of the success of her performance in “The phantom of the opera,” which requires a powerful and technical voice. Minh Quan promised to make the best record for the show.

Minh Quan also made and apology to Lan Anh on March 21, and the senior singer forgave the mistake.

The organizing board confirmed that this would be a lesson for artists and producers who participate in the Dancing with the Stars. They hoped that the audience would continue supporting this reality show, which focus on dancing, not singing.
