VietNamNet Bridge – Pakhar, the first storm on the East Sea in 2012 was nearly 400km from the shore of Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces in central Vietnam, on the evening of March 29.





The storm is forecasted to be about 200km from Vietnam’s shore on the afternoon of March 31, with wind velocity at the ninth level.

The National Hydro-meteorological Forecast Center says that in the next 24 hours, the storm will move slowly, 3-5km per hours. By 1 pm, the storm will be 320 km from the coast of Ninh Thuan – Binh Thuan. One day later, it will be 210km from Vietnam’s shore and its strength will rise by one grade.

Wind will get stronger from the sixth to eighth grades and there will have rain and thunderstorm offshore Truong Sa Archipelago and Binh Dinh-Binh Thuan provinces.

Cold air will affect northern provinces on the evening of March 30 and spread to the central region. There will have rain and thunderstorm in these regions.

Pakhar is the first storm in the year in the East Sea. Weather forecast agencies have said that 6-7 storms and tropical depressions will appear on the East Sea in 2012, more than the average of previous years. Last year there were four typhoons in the East Sea.
