VietNamNet Bridge – The first Vietnam-ASEAN UNESCO Heritage Festival 2013 will be held in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong from December 27-31.
The event is organised to coincide with the 120th anniversary of the establishment and development of Da Lat City, and the fifth Da Lat Flower festival.
The festival will attract the participation of ASEAN nations and their dialogue partners such as India, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
Diverse activities will be held during the event, including an international seminar on a heritage network in Southeast Asia, a talk on Da Lat tourism and flowers, and an exchange on UNESCO Vietnam-ASEAN intangible cultural heritage.
Ten installation artworks featuring famous cultural architecture from 10 ASEAN nations will be also displayed.
The festival aims to honour and promote Vietnamese heritage examples which have been recognised by UNESCO or are being submitted to UNESCO for approval.
It also provides a forum for government officials, policymakers and cultural activists to share experiences in preserving and promoting the value of heritage, as well as introducing the beautiful landscape, people and potential of Central Highlands provinces to international friends.
