On the morning of January 1, visitors arriving in Ho Chi Minh City were welcomed with pleasant surprises, receiving charming gifts as part of a special event to kick off the New Year.

Promoting Ho Chi Minh City as a dynamic, safe destination

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Tan Son Nhat International Airport, organized a warm reception for the first tourists of 2025 arriving in the city.

This event aims to promote the city as a vibrant and safe tourist destination for both domestic and international visitors.

It also serves as a stepping stone for the city’s tourism sector to grow and establish Ho Chi Minh City as a preferred global destination.

A warm welcome with meaningful gifts

The first visitors to step off their planes at Tan Son Nhat International Airport were treated to various cultural experiences.

These included traditional musical performances, tea ceremonies, and calligraphy demonstrations by artisans.

In addition, organizers prepared special gifts for the arriving guests.

Among them, eight lucky passengers on Vietnam Airlines Flight VN10 from France, landing at 5:20 AM, received round-trip domestic business class tickets.

Similarly, five passengers on Japan Airlines Flight JL079 from Tokyo, arriving at 5:50 AM, and another five on Cathay Pacific Flight CX767 from Hong Kong, arriving at 10:35 AM, were also given exclusive gifts.

As part of its strategy for 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism aims to attract 8.5 million international visitors.

This is expected to generate a total revenue of 260 trillion VND (approximately $10.6 billion), reflecting a growth of over 37% compared to 2024.
