VietNamNet Bridge – The Hanoi Health Department’s inspectors have announced to fine five private beauty salons for over-advertising.

Stubble trouble

In late April, a 39-year-old woman in Hanoi died after performing eyelid

cutting and breast surgery at a private beauty salon.

They stated to offer breast plastic surgery, liposuction, etc. though they were not permitted to perform these techniques.

According to Hanoi’s chief health inspector, Nguyen Viet Cuong, inspectors checked some beauty salons in Hanoi and detected violations in advertising. Five beauty salons had to pay over VND27 million ($1,300) in fines for over-advertising.

“Private beauty salons are only allowed to perform simple techniques like cutting eyelids, eye and lip tattooing, etc. not breast plastic surgery, liposuction, facelift…,” Cuong said.

“We will tighten control over private beauty salons. To be safe, people should go to prestigious beauty salons of big hospitals for plastic surgeries,” he said.

On May 12, the Hanoi Health Department’s officials met with 33 beauty salons and asked them to not violate regulations and operate under the licenses.
