1. Thanh Hoa overthrow Binh Duong

Thanh Hoa got a taste of the top spot for the first time after beating Can Tho 2-0 on July 15. The team had experienced a nine-game unbeaten run - six wins and three draws - since their last loss to Song Lam Nghe An in the sixth round, before replacing Binh Duong on top of the ladder with 34 points.

2. Binh Duong meet archenemy

Becamex Binh Duong could not avenge their first-leg 0-1 loss to V-League newbies Sanna Khanh Hoa BVN as they went on to lose their second-leg meeting on Wednesday with a score of 1-2. This disappointing defeat forced Binh Duong to drop their long-lasting top position at the hands of Thanh Hoa.

3. Home sides impress

Four out of eight host teams bagged three full points in this round including Thanh Hoa, Hanoi T&T, Quang Ninh Coal and QNK Quang Nam. Two teams - Dong Nai and Hai Phong - also fought to win a precious point on their home turf, while Binh Duong was the only home side to lose.

4. Dong Thap score an unfortunate record

Dong Thap became the team to concede the most goals in this year’s V-League season following their 0-7 loss to Hanoi T&T on Wednesday, July 15. Earlier in the first round, Dong Thap were crushed by Binh Duong with a score of 1-6.

5. Hoang Anh Gia Lai dips into bottom

Young players of Hoang Anh Gia Lai continued seeing poor results in their debut at the V-League arena. After 16 rounds, they fell sharply to the bottom group of the table with just two wins, four draws and 10 losses, and are on the verge of being relegated to the First Division tournament in the 2016 season.
