1. Round of ‘doubles’
The third round saw the most goals scored since the beginning of the season, with 28 goals after seven matches. Notably, four players netted a double: Quang Hai (Quang Ninh Coal), Abass Dieng (Becamex Binh Duong), Patiyo (QNK Quang Nam) and Felix (Dong Thap). The first hat-trick of the 2015 V-League was also recorded in this round as striker Samson of Hanoi T&T found QNK Quang Nam’s net three times.
2. Impressive Becamex Binh Duong
Becamex Binh Duong demonstrated absolute strength as reigning V-League champions with their third consecutive win. After three rounds of play, Binh Duong became the only team to maintain a winning streak and continued dominating the standings with an amazing nine points.
3. Hai Phong maintain clean sheet
Despite the absence of their main goalkeeper Thanh Thang, LG Hai Phong showed that they hold the most solid defence line in the 2015 V-League as they continued keeping a clean sheet in an away match against Sanna Khanh Hoa last weekend. Remaining undefeated after three games (two wins and one draw), Hai Phong temporarily stood second in the V-League table with seven points, two behind leaders Binh Duong.
4. No red cards recorded
No players were sent off fields because of red cards in Round 3 – a round with the most goals and a high level of competitiveness – compared to one indirect red card in the first and another direct in the second round previously. The ‘absence’ of red cards is an encouraging signal and allows football lovers to count on fair play in the future.
5. SHB Da Nang cause disappointment
Two-time title V-League holders, SHB Da Nang continued letting local fans down with their third consecutive loss in the 2015 V-League season. With their third-round defeat against Binh Duong on Sunday, Da Nang repeated their losses in the first three V-League games since the 2008 season.
