VietNamNet Bridge – The 2015 V-League fourth round took place on January 21 witnessing four V-League powerhouses — Song Lam Nghe An, Becamex Binh Duong, Hanoi T&T and SHB Da Nang — setting up exciting encounters. Let’s review the five most notable events from this round of play.

1. Binh Duong win four games with one lineup
Becamex Binh Duong have been exhibiting their awesome strength as reigning V-League champions, winning four consecutive games since the 2015 season beginning. Notably, the same starting line was used by manager Le Thuy Hai to secure these victories, which indicated Binh Duong’s absolute stability, while Vietnam’s most valuable player Le Cong Vinh was kept on the substitute list.
2. Hai Phong set record with four-game clean sheet
LG Hai Phong became the first team to keep a clean sheet in the first four matches of the V-League season owing to their extremely solid defence line. Along with its current second-place position in the standings, the port city’s team is currently a ‘mystery’ of the 2015 V-League. Hai Phong’s brilliant performance also demonstrates the strategising abilities of young manager Truong Viet Hoang, who is said to be able to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
3. Hanoi T&T draw with SHB Da Nang for first time
Two V-League powerhouses, SHB Da Nang and Hanoi T&T held each other to a draw for the first time in history after sharing a point at Chi Lang Stadium on Wednesday. Of their previous meetings, seven victories went to Da Nang while the remaining six were seized by the capital’s team.
4. Limited goals recorded
Just 15 goals were scored in the seven January 21 matches, making Round 4 a round of the fewest goals since the season beginning (Round 1: 23 goals; Round 2: 20 goals and Round 3: 29 goals). Noticeably, there were three clashes finishing with just a solitary goal scored. Despite the limited goal tally, the fourth round competition took place in a dramatic and tense fashion.
5. Hoang Anh Gia Lai suffer third consecutive loss
Hoang Anh Gia Lai is no longer the phenomenon of this year’s V-League season. After their impressive opener, they disappointed with three consecutive losses against Dong Tam Long An, Thanh Hoa and LG Hai Phong. Maybe the generation of young players like Cong Phuong and Tuan Anh are still not experienced enough to play in the national top-tier football league.
