Quang Ninh Coal are demonstrating an extremely impressive form on their V-League debut.

1. Thanh Hoa fly high

Thanh Hoa, coached by Mai Duc Chung, demonstrated their hunger for the championship title with a 3-1 victory against reigning champions Hanoi T&T last weekend. The team has played best out of all of this year’s V-League participants, remaining unbeaten in six rounds of play with five wins and one draw.

2. Quang Ninh Coal – A special V-League phenomenon

With a 3-2 victory over Hoang Anh Gia Lai last weekend, Quang Ninh Coal snatched the second-place position from V-League giants Hanoi T&T. With this win, the team became one of the three teams which have played the best since the beginning of the 2014 season. A five-game unbeaten run - three wins, two draws and only one loss over six rounds of play is a really impressive debut for a V-League newbie like Quang Ninh Coal.

3. Becamex Binh Duong return with second win

Despite a gloomy start to this year’s V-League season with two losses and one draw, Becamex Binh Duong have returned with a sixth-round 4-1 victory against Hung Vuong An Giang, their second consecutive win in the two latest two rounds of play. Although the wins were taken playing much weaker opponents, the number of goals scored clearly showed positive changes in Binh Duong’s attack line since Le Thuy Hai was nominated the team’s technical manager.

4. Song Lam Nghe An fail to regain form

The 1-2 loss to SHB Da Nang in their sixth-round match last Saturday was the third consecutive defeat Song Lam Nghe An have faced since the beginning of this year’s football season – a big disappointment from a team widely known as one of the V-League’s giants. Nghe An must quickly get back their form if they do not want to be knocked out of the fierce title bid.

5. Hung Vuong An Giang stuck at bottom

Hung Vuong An Giang continued to be stuck at the bottom of the provisional standings following their 1-4 loss to Becamex Binh Duong in the sixth round. The southern team have recorded four losses and one draw, and scored only two goals since the beginning of this year’s V-League campaign. Those poor performances are putting An Giang on red alert for relegation.
