Nguyen Ha Dong, the maker of well-known game Flappy Bird, recently launched a new game that is selling extremely well on the Appstore in Vietnam.
Swing Copters was launched on August 21. A few days after the launch, the game had a large number of iOS users.
Because of the popularity of Flappy Bird, Dong's new game also ranked second in sales on the Appstore in the U.S. However, it attracted less Android users, raking 27th among most downloaded free apps. Some have predicted that it will quickly rise to the top of Google Store sales as well.
At Google Play, Nguyen Ha Dong’s game attracted dozens of comments by Vietnamese people. Many were very interested in the new game but noticed a marked similarity between Swing Copters and Flappy Bird, only noting that Swing Copters was more difficult. Some suggested that the maker create more levels.
Others were not happy with the new game at all, saying that there was nothing innovative or creative about it, some even calling it a waste of time to download. Swing Copters uses the same basic idea as Flappy Bird, the main difference being that an aircraft has replaced the bird.
