VietNamNet Bridge - At about 4am on September 26, flash floods suddenly came in Ngoi Duong and Doi streams, caused severe damage in Lao Cai Province.

Heavy rains and flash floods have eroded the two arterial roads in Lao Cai - 70 and 4D. The 4D road that connects the city of Lao Cai to Sapa and Lai Chau province, is seriously damaged.

There were nine eroded points on this road. The rock and soil volume is not great but at km 124 +600 a huge rock slid from the mountain to block the road.

Sa Pa Road Maintenance Bureau had to ask for urgent assistance from the Lao Cai Road Management and Repair Co., Ltd. to use explosives to break this huge rock.

By 2pm of September 26, the 4D highway was still congested. On the two sides of the blocked point, tourist cars and trucks carrying goods to Sapa City and Lai Chau province queued for more than 3 km long.
