VietNamNet Bridge – Though it has been sunny for several days the flood water has not withdrawn completely. People in central Vietnam are struggling with many difficulties after flood. The below photos were taken on October 23-24.

People in Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province, are busy cleaning up their houses. They are facing the shortage of food and clean water.

Located near the Ho Chi Minh Highway, Nguyen Thi Loan’s house was flooded to the roof. Her family had to live in a tent with other families. They have returned to their home to clean up and seek the remaining belongings. Loan said all assets have gone with water.

While flood has withdrawn in the upstream, leaving mud, many areas in the downstream are still over one meter under water.

Over ten days ago, Ho Van Khan’s family had to borrow rice during the first flood. Standing in front of his flooded house, Kha said that his family can’t bear it any further. “My family will have to live on instant noodle for a month.”

Dinh Van Lam, chairman of Huong Do commune, Ha Tinh province, said that the biggest difficulty at present is the lack of food, grain and medicines.
