VietNamNet Bridge – The ambience of game-day was in the air on June 11 as the northern province of Hung Yen hosted a football rally displaying the revelry that Vietnamese fans have for the game of football.

The event drew the participation of football lovers from the northern provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh, Haiphong, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen and Hanoi.

Participants passionately demonstrated their love for the game, resounding renditions of traditional game day songs.

Nguyen Quang Tuan, a resident of Hanoi and the oldest person in attendance, said the ceremony helps “Vietnamese fans come closer together and show their love for the sport”.

He took the occasion to call on Vietnamese fans to support their athletes at the upcoming international competitions, first and foremost Southeast Asian Games.

He wished that the Vietnam national football team would qualify for the World Cup one day in the future.
