VietNamNet Bridge – Secretary General of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan has submitted his resignation, confirmed VFF.

Tuan decided to withdraw as the public had asked someone who takes responsibility for U23 Vietnam team at the Southeast Asian Games 2011. His resignation was sent to VFF Chair Nguyen Trong Hy. VFF officials will meet today, December 22, to consider the case.

Earlier, a group of football fans sent emails, letters and text messages to VFF’s officials, asking the federation’s top leaders to step down. As VFF was busy with the establishment of the Vietnam Professional Football Company, Tuan’s resignation is now considered.

Tuan is now VFF’s representative at many departments of the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
