VietNamNet Bridge - This is one of the new rules that the General Department of Sports and Physical Training has asked the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to add to the regulations on professional football of the 2013 season.

Doping is one of the "hottest" issues of not only Vietnam but also other nations in the world. In addition to penalty imposed on dope users, if one player is detected to use dope, his country’s honor will be harmed. With the indulgent lifestyle of Vietnamese young players today, it is difficult to anticipate what they will do.
To ensure fair competition and prevent doping among players, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training on October 30 asked the VFF to amend the regulations on professional football in the 2013 season, in which a very important content is to "conduct mandatory drug test for players."
Previously, some players involved in drug use but most of these cases were not handled thoroughly, because of the cover of their clubs.
In the most recent case, defender Huy Hoang of Song Lam Nghe An FC, was punished for “drunkness", not taking drug and making public angriness. That is why the General Department of Sports and Physical Training asked VFF to conduct doping tests from the next season.
In recent years, the sports sector has been aware of the harmful effects from doping so it begins to build doping test centers in the country. Although these facilities are very expensive but in the long run, the facilities will help Vietnam save a lot of money from sending samples overseas for doping test. More importantly, massive doping test will help stop fraud in competition and tighten management of social life of players.
The General Department of Sports and Physical Training has also pointed out the limitations, weaknesses and the current state of the Vietnamese football and asked VFF to add some more contents to the regulations on professional football in 2013 season.
In addition to conducting doping test, the General Department requested to reduce the number of foreign players of the professional leagues in Vietnam to give more opportunities to domestic players and specify and aggravate the penalties on violent and rude behavior, dope use, etc. of players, coaches, referees ...
