Coach Guillaume Graechen’s players delivered another impressive performance in the second friendly in the UK during their European tour, drawing their hosts U19 Wimbledon 2-2 on March 10.

Unlike a clash against U19 Arsenal five days earlier, Graechen used Thanh Hau at the start of the match to replace Tuan Anh who was injured.

The substitution did not change the team’s tactics, especially their ability to attack, putting mounting pressure on their hosts.

However, Wimbledon players were awarded a penalty kick, putting them ahead on 11 minutes.

Vietnamese players carved out a number of scoring chances, and Cong Phuong hammered in on 35 minutes after receiving a pass set up by Van Toan.

Van Son missed a chance to extend Vietnam’s lead one minute before halftime, failing to convert the penalty kick into goal.

In the second half, Wimbledon scored their second goal on 60 minutes before Duy Manh equalised the scoring three minutes later.

U19 Vietnam defeated U19 Arsenal 3-0 in their first friendly. They plan to play U19 Coventry on March 13, U19 Tottenham on March 18 and U19 Wolverhampton on March 30.
