On March 10, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hospital received a female patient, named Lien, 23, from Phuoc Long commune, Nha Trang City, who had severe burns.

According to preliminary information, on the evening of March 9, Lien and her boyfriend, named Tu, 24, from Cam Ranh City, rented a room at a motel in Nha Trang. Then, Tu poured gasoline on himself and Lien and set fire. Tu died of severe burns while Lien was hospitalized.

Lien declared that they loved each other for a long time but when they mentioned their weddings, Tu’s family did not agree, so Tu burned himself and his girlfriend.

Nha Trang City Police are investigating the incident.
