Around 2.459 million foreigners visited Vietnam in the first three months of this year, a year-on-year rise of 19.9%, according to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO).

This is a good news for the tourism sector as first months of this year saw a quite high growth.

Although the number of foreign arrivals to Vietnam slightly dipped 0.6% in March to just 820,480, the rate grew 28.3% in February.

GSO reported that domestic tourists reached 18.7 million in the first quarter of this year and the tourism sector earned VND109,137 billion in revenue in three months, up 21.2% over the same period last year.
