In his message, Lao People’s Revolutionary Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith emphasized that Gen. Lam’s election as President shows the trust and appreciation of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

He expected to work alongside President Lam to contribute to cultivating the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

He expressed his belief that with his qualifications, abilities and rich experience accumulated over years of holding important positions, Lam will join the Vietnamese leadership to help the country to reap greater achievements in future.

In his congratulatory message, Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed that he highly values China-Vietnam relations and is ready to work with President Lam to maintain strategic exchanges and lead the building of a joint community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, bringing more benefits to the two peoples.

Xi expected that Lam would record greater gains in his new position.

Meanwhile, in his congratulatory message, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni expressed his belief that under the leadership of President Lam, Vietnam would reap great success in national development, while maintaining an important role in the region and the wider world.

The King hoped that the two countries would continue to maintain peace, stability, cooperation and better development in future.
