VietNamNet Bridge – At 4am this morning, 60 border guards of Quang Ngai Province were mobilized to rescue a Panama cargo ship which was stranded at the sea of Ly Son Island, with two large holes in the body. However, the crew insisted to stay in the vessel, reasoning to wait for the guidance of the "parent company."

Colonel Bui Phu Phu, deputy commander of the Border Guard Forces of Quang Ngai province, said that the Panama flag vessel was transporting goods from the South to the North when it was stranded in the waters of Ly Son Island (10 nautical miles northeast of the island) on the night of October 3.
By this morning, the captain and crew of the ship released signal for help.
"We have sent a patrol boat and a rescue boat and more than 60 officers and soldiers to rescue the cargo vessel in bad weather conditions," Phu said.
According to Colonel Phu, through preliminary examination, the provincial border guards discovered that the cargo ship crashed into reefs, causing two large holes at the bottom of two chambers. Sea water entered the ship and endangered the lives of 24 crew members.
However, the crew currently insists to stay in the vessel, reasoning to wait for the guidance of the "parent company.".
