In the evening of December 31, the Hanoi Old Quarter was packed with tourists and people waiting for the New Year. Sipping beer in the cold weather, Baptiste Donnier Blanc and Coccia from France said that they had not intended to welcome the New Year’s Eve in Vietnam but after three weeks here, they loved this country and they decided to stay here during the New Year holiday. They did know that the New Year is not the major holiday of Vietnam but they were very impressed by the vibrant atmosphere here.
Just to be in Hanoi for two hours, Merlin Lang and Alexandra Varnai were present at the Hanoi Opera House to feel the atmosphere of the New Year’s Eve. Their stop in Vietnam in the New Year was such a fate because their flight schedule was changed. Both hoped that this accident would bring good luck on the New Year's days.
Cician and her boyfriend from Switzerland joined the crowds to move close to the Hanoi Opera House to attend the New Year Countdown celebration and to welcome the New Year in Vietnam.
They share the sacred moments of the New Year’s Eve with a sweet kiss. Cician said this was the most wonderful New Year moment they have ever had.

To have a strange New Year, Ethan Brivik and Sarah Grimm (first-year students from Australia) chose Vietnam as the destination. After walking around the Old Quarter, Hanoi to feel the festival atmosphere, they said they would stay in Vietnam for another week and hoped to have many interesting activities to explore.
