According to the People's Police Newspaper, the Investigative Police Agency has released a wanted notice against Dong Xuan Phong, 38, a resident of Hai Phong.
Earlier, Phong was sought for another crime. In 2009, Phong was hunted by the HCM City police for his involvement in a smuggling case. However, the authorities have yet to catch Phong.
Earlier, on May 18, the police decided to arrest Dung for violating the regulations of the state on economic management causing serious consequences.

The police conducted a search of his home and his place of work but Dung was absent. After verification, the police identified that Dung had fled from his residence.
The Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security released a special arrest warrant against Dung in Vietnam, and in collaboration with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) issued an international arrest warrant for Dung.
The same day, the Ministry of Transportation suspended Dung’s party membership.
On June 22, the Interpol General Secretariat issued a red warrant against Dung.
On August 22, at the 18th session of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-corruption, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, who is also the Head of the Committee, requested the relevant agencies to have to arrest Dung.
On September 4, Dung was arrested.
He was escorted from HCM City to Hanoi on October 5.
