The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission convenes its 44th session in Hanoi on April 27 - 28. 

 

The commission stated at its 44th session in Hanoi City last week that Hien had seriously violated multiple regulations in a criminal case related to the Naval Force.

The inspection commission also decided to remove two former officials of the Military Unit 363 named Nguyen Van Khuay and Vu Duy An for irregularities in land management, the local media reported.

Earlier in June last year, the Politburo stripped Hien of the following titles: member of the Central Military Commission, and member of the Party Committee of the Naval Force, both during the 2005-2010 tenure, including the titles of vice secretary, member of the standing board and member of the Party unit, for his severe land-related violations.

Hien, who used to serve as Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Commander at the Naval Force, is held accountable for the serious violations of rules and wrongdoing of the standing board of the force’s Party unit in implementing the board’s resolution on the management and use of defense land under the umbrella of the force, according to the Politburo.

Also, he must bear responsibility for breaking regulations on land management, use and construction regarding 10 plots of land for defense purposes; disobeying the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations of the Naval Force; and slackening leadership, supervision and inspection of the management and use of defense land.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on September 3, 2019 took disciplinary action against Hien, by stripping of his status as former Commander of the Naval Force due to his gross violations and errors while on duty.

On October 22 last year, the Ministry of National Defense’s Criminal Investigation Agency cooperated with the Central Military Procuracy had initiated legal proceedings against Hien for negligence in naval land management.

The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission has proposed the Politburo consider and take disciplinary action against two top officials of Quang Ngai Province due to their violations and shortcomings in various fields.

According to the commission, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee Le Viet Chu and Chairman of the People’s Committee Tran Ngoc Cang made multiple violations in leadership, direction, the management and use of land, finance, investment and the personnel work.

The violations are serious and affected the prestige of the provincial party and committee and local authorities. Therefore, disciplinary measures are needed, it said at the 44th session from April 27 to 28 in Hanoi. SGT
