VietNamNet Bridge – Former Deputy Chairman of the 10th National Assembly, Vu Dinh Cu, died at the age of 75 in Ha Noi last Wednesday.
According to a special joint communique issued on Saturday, the Communist Party of Viet Nam's Central Committee, the National Assembly, the State President, the Government and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Cu, died of illness at Ha Noi-based Military Hospital 108.
A professor and doctor in science, Cu, born in the northern Thai Binh Province's Dong Hung District, was also a former member of the Party's Central Committee during its 7th and 8th tenure, former chairman of the NA's Committee for Science, Technology and Environment and a NA deputy during the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th terms.
Cu received many prestigious orders and medals from the Party and State for his contributions to revolutionary causes.
A former postgraduate student in Physics at Russia's Lomonosov University, Cu started his career as a lecturer at the present Ha Noi University of Science and Technology.
Tributes to the late NA deputy chairman will be received in the National Funeral Home at No 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Ha Noi, today, Sep 12.
