The local media yesterday, July 19, quoted the HCMC investigative police, saying investigators are expanding a probe into the abuse of powers while on duty at the State-run Saigon Co.op.

The police, in coordination with HCMC prosecutors, have pressed charges against six former and incumbent Saigon Co.op executives charged with dereliction of duties which led to serious consequences.

They are Ho My Hoa, finance director and board member of Saigon Co.op; Nguyen Thanh Nhan, ex-general director and ex-board member of Saigon Co.op; Tran Trung Liet, ex-chief accountant of Saigon Co.op; Hang Thanh Dan, who served as head of the Supervisory Committee from 2015 to July 2019 and who is now board member of Saigon Co.op; Pham Thi Minh Ngoc, deputy head of the Supervisory Committee since September 2017 and head of the Internal Auditing Committee since August 2016; and Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang, who served as member of the Supervisory Committee in 2014-2019 and has held the post of head of the Supervisory Committee since July 2019.

Also involved in the case is Diep Dung, former chairman of Saigon Co.op, who was detained on December 15, 2020.
