VietNamNet Bridge – Defending V-League champions Ha Noi T&T will be eyeing top spot when they visit Khanh Hoa tomorrow, Aug 10, for their delayed 13th-round match in the central city of Nha Trang.

The match was delayed to allow Ha Noi to take part in the Asian Football Confederation Cup, in which they were eliminated in the group stage.

Last weekend the title race opened up when Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) suffered an unexpected loss to Ninh Binh and Ha Noi T&T and SHB Da Nang returning the race after their victories.

Ha Noi T&T, who lie three points behind SLNA, the leaders since April, will take over on goal difference if they beat Khanh Hoa.

"It will not an easy game against Khanh Hoa because they need points to survive but we must get a result at Nha Trang," Phan Thanh Hung, Ha Noi's head coach, said.

The defending champions are in a good frame of mind after a dramatic comeback last weekend to beat Navibank Sai Gon 4-2. SHB Da Nang are also three points behind the leaders but have played one more match than Ha Noi.

Second-bottom Khanh Hoa recently defeated Dong Thap and are desperate for points to avoid relegation.

But full points will put Ha Noi in the driver's seat since they take on SLNA in the last match of the season.

Assuming both win full points in their next round – Ha Noi T&T play Hai Phong while SLNA take on Ha Noi ACB – a draw will suffice for Ha Noi in the match against SLNA since they beat them in the first leg.

In the V-League, a tie is not broken by goal difference but by head-to-head results.

National Cup

Song Lam Nghe An, still in the running for a double this season, will take on Hoang Anh Gia Lai tomorrow at home at the Vinh Stadium in a National Cup semifinal. The other semifinal is between Lam Son Thanh Hoa and Navibank Sai Gon.
