Nguyen Ngoc Dung served as chairman of VECOM during its fourth term from 2021 to 2025 and stepped down from the position on January 16, 2026.

Widely recognized for his deep understanding of the e-commerce sector, he played an important role in strengthening the association over many years.

During his tenure, VECOM organized and coordinated numerous major events that left a strong mark on Vietnam’s digital commerce community. These included the Vietnam Online Business Forum, the Cross-Border E-Commerce Forum, National E-Commerce Week and Online Friday, Vietnam’s national online shopping day.

Beyond these initiatives, Nguyen Ngoc Dung also helped launch programs connecting Vietnamese businesses with Amazon Global Selling, enabling local enterprises to bring their products to international markets.

He actively promoted the adoption of emerging technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence in the e-commerce sector, while also participating in advisory groups and policy drafting efforts related to digital transformation and online commerce.

Before being elected chairman, Nguyen Ngoc Dung served as vice chairman and head representative of the Vietnam E-Commerce Association in Ho Chi Minh City.

He was also involved in teaching, consulting and training activities in the fields of e-commerce and legal frameworks related to the industry. Through collaboration with universities and training centers, he contributed to raising awareness and developing expertise in Vietnam’s growing digital economy.

His passing is considered a significant loss to Vietnam’s e-commerce sector and has left many businesses and professionals in the field deeply saddened.
