VietNamNet Bridge – An exhibition painting by senior artists Dinh Cuong, Pham Van Hang, Hoang Trong Ban and Than Trong Minh, has opened at Tu Do Gallery in HCM City.

Dinh Cuong, 72, contributes 15 portraits of late poet Bui Giang, who is called “Czary poet” and a painting of a young girl with two lines of verses by Bui Giang. He also introduces many portraits and landscape paintings.

Dinh Cuong was a member of the Vietnam painting group in 1960s-1970s in southern Vietnam. He was not born in Hue, but after many years teaching and working in the ancient capital, locals consider Dinh Cuong as a talented artist of Hue. Dinh Cuong settled in the US in 1989. He continues drawing in the US. His paintings mainly feature the homeland.

Than Trong Minh, 68, from Hue city, was a doctor but he had passion for writing, with pen-name Lu Kieu since 1958. In the 1980s he changed his passion from writing to painting. He contributes 20 oil paintings to the exhibition.

Hoang Trong Ban, 67, is a painter from Da Nang city. He introduces seven oil paintings at this event.

Senior sculptor Pham Van Hang joins the exhibition with five statues. Born in 1942 in Da Nang, this sculptor is famous for “Remnant” painting, which was made with human bone and flesh and displayed in Saigon in 1970 to condemn war crime.

The exhibition entitled “Four Friends” will open until August 28.
