Three of the four were in Dong Thap Province and one was recorded in Long An Province.

All four suffered from complications caused by pre-existing, underlying health conditions.

A 44-year-old man from Dong Thap was being treated for cancer and cirrhosis of the liver while a 48-year-old woman, from the same area, was suffering from coronary heart disease and stage five chronic kidney failure prior to her COVID diagnosis.

The third victim from Dong Thap was a 74-year-old man, suffering from hypertension, type two diabetes, and stage two chronic kidney disease. He had also previously undergone a coronary bypass.

All three died last Thursday.

The fourth victim was a 67-year-old woman, from Can Duoc District, in Long An Province. She passed away last Friday at Long An General Hospital and had been suffering from cirrhosis, hepatitis B, and heart failure.

Each cause of death was recorded as pneumonia in SARS-CoV-2 patients with underlying health issues.

This brings the nation's total number of fatalities to 123.

Seven more COVID-19 patients have died in Vietnam during the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health reported on July 11.
