“Individual” is the exhibition by Nguyen Tu Chi, Ha Hung Dung, Vo Ngoc Suong and Le Thi Xuan Thao, with 57 paintings of four different topics.
Nguyen Tu Chi’s concern is “original”. She said: “I carry it every day. Sometimes I doubt, I analyze, I dig up, I am experienced, sometimes I upbraid and then I raise it on my shoulders. There is something in the phrase “truth – original – children”.
It sounds simple but it is the inspiration and the reason for Tu Chi’s painting works. “It keeps me busy all day. It makes me happy and sad and it is very interesting. It is life,” she said.
Meanwhile, paintings by Vo Ngoc Suong are desires for freedom, moments with the nature, families with children, the mother’s heart.
For Le Thi Xuan Thao, her paintings are minutes of inspiration with colors of life. That is a street, a river, family, etc.
The only male painter, Ha Hung Dung, contributes artworks about women, particularly Dao ethnic women.
Dung said: “Some people questioned why I’m interesting in drawing women, particularly ethnic minority women. They live in a simple way and their lives are hard but it charms me. That hardness has made their special beauty. They look like brilliant roses”.
