The news was announced at a meeting with the press on March 12.
“In 2024, Ho Guom Theatre will organize international theater art programs in Vietnam in order to bring classical music experiences to the public, thus inspiring and spreading the world’s passion for arts to Vietnamese audiences,” said Major General, People's Artist Nguyen Cong Bay, Director of Ho Guom Theater.
‘Musical Seasons 2024-2025’, with the participation of international leading artists, will bring a golden opportunity to Vietnamese to enjoy world-class performing arts.
The opening event is the Four Seasons Concert to be held on April 21-22 and performed by L’Orchestre de L’Opéra Royal de Versailles, one of the world’s leading orchestras.
After that, in August, Vietnamese music fans will be able to enjoy The Mozart Concert, to be performed by Les Musiciens du Louvre, established in 1982, which is among the the best orchestras in the world.
In September, choreographer Thiery Malandain's new ballet "The Seasons" will be shown at Ho Guom Theater, with Malandain Ballet Biarritz in collaboration with L’Orchestre de L’Opéra Royal de Versailles. The ballet, considered a special adaptation with required high techniques, explores relations between mankind, nature and life.
The Musical Seasons 2024-2025 series will continue in November 2024 with the performance of ‘The Vienna Concert’ by Vienna Chamber Orchestra.
The series of art shows will close with the classic opera Carmen by French composer Georges Bizet, to be performed by the Royal Theater of Versailles in March 2025, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the first performance of "Carmen".
According to the organizing board, Vietnamese music lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy ‘Four Seasons’ by the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, one of the greatest composers of the Baroque period.
“Four Seasons” includes four violin concertos, each of them representing a season of the year. This is one of the most beloved classic works of all time, transcribed into many different art forms such as symphony and ballet.
Ho Guom Theater and Vietnam Airlines also signed an MOU at the meeting on cooperation between the two sides in organizing art performance programs.
