In the first semester of the 2025–2026 school year, the Foreign Language Specialized School (FLSS), under the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, celebrated a rare academic feat: four of its students scored a perfect 1600 on the SAT - an achievement requiring mastery of reading comprehension, reasoning, and logic.

The three most recent students to receive official confirmation of their perfect scores are Nguyen Minh Thu (class 12A3), Ha Bao Tran (class 12A6), and Pham The Tuan (class 12A1).

Earlier, in October, another student from the school, Nguyen Kieu Anh (class 12A1), also attained the same perfect score.

All four students achieved 800/800 in both the Math and Reading & Writing sections.

This means that within a single semester, FLSS has produced four students with perfect SAT scores. Remarkably, two of them, Kieu Anh and The Tuan, are from the same class, 12A1.

Beyond their SAT scores, each student has a strong academic track record.

Nguyen Minh Thu previously won First Prize in the district-level English competition in Hoan Kiem (2022–2023), Third Prize at the city level, and a Bronze Medal at the HIPPO English competition in 2021. She was accepted into the English-specialized programs of three top schools: FLSS, Hanoi University of Education High School for Gifted Students, and Chu Van An High School.

Pham The Tuan earned an IELTS score of 7.5, with a remarkable 8.5 in Reading. He also won a Gold Medal in the city-level Vioedu Math competition in Grade 8. He passed entrance exams to both English-specialized programs (FLSS and the Hanoi University of Education high school) and the Math-specialized track at Nguyen Hue High School.

Ha Bao Tran has an IELTS score of 8.0 and has been a top-performing student for 12 consecutive years. She plays the guitar, solves Rubik's Cubes, manages the school’s football club, and actively participates in community service projects.

Nguyen Kieu Anh also scored 8.0 on the IELTS.

Speaking with VietNamNet, Dr. Do Thi Ngoc Chi, Vice Principal of FLSS, shared that this year’s results stand out even more than those of previous years.

“This is the result of a serious, well-guided academic journey,” she said. “Every year, we have students who score 1600 on the SAT, but this time, we already have four by the end of the first semester. This proves that when students have clear goals, work persistently, and aspire to global standards, they can absolutely reach them.”

According to Dr. Chi, these achievements are made possible by the right educational environment, supportive parents, dedicated teachers, and most importantly, the trust and belief placed in students to strive for excellence.

“These outstanding results, along with other remarkable achievements across various fields, motivate us to stay committed to our educational philosophy: to develop students into global citizens who are strong in foreign languages, competent in academic subjects, and grounded in character and social responsibility,” Dr. Chi emphasized.
