The victims of the robbery were two Chinese men.
The suspects include Le Thu Suong, a woman aged 35, and three men -- Le Hai Lam, 29; Vo Tan Trinh, 24; and Truong Van Chieu, 28. All reside in the city’s Co Do District.
According to the police’s initial investigation, the four suspects arranged to rob two Chinese men – Zou Jan Bin, 40, and his friend Lin Li Huo.
The Chinese arrived in Viet Nam in mid-October and sought Suong’s help to arrange a match for Lin Li Huo.
On October 18, Suong and three other suspects met and made plans to rob the Chinese, according to which Lâm and Chiều would “act” as thieves. They stole a total of VND32 million (US$1,400) from the two foreigners.
As soon as the robbery was reported, local police launched a search for the suspects and nabbed them last Saturday.
