Vietnamese football boasts four players among the top 10 most valuable athletes in the 2024 ASEAN Cup, including Nguyen Filip, Nguyen Xuan Son, Tuan Hai, and Hoang Duc.
The 2024 ASEAN Cup (AFF Cup) has kicked off with an exciting group stage filled with intriguing matches and surprising results.
Vietnam faced challenges in their victory against Laos, while Cambodia impressed by holding Malaysia to a draw, bolstered by their squad of quality naturalized players.
Meanwhile, Thailand demonstrated their championship credentials with a staggering 10-0 victory over Timor-Leste, despite fielding a squad that was not their strongest.
In this 15th edition of the Southeast Asian football championship, Thailand boasts the most valuable squad and several of the highest-valued players.
According to Transfermarkt, brothers Supachok Sarachat and Suphanat Mueanta from Thailand occupy the top two spots among the most valuable players in the 2024 ASEAN Cup: Supachok Sarachat valued at €900,000 and Suphanat Mueanta valued at €800,000.
Both players are currently playing abroad, underscoring their international stature.
The third spot also belongs to a Thai player, defender Nicholas Mickelson, a 25-year-old born in Norway and valued at €650,000.
Vietnam contributes significantly to the top 10 with goalkeeper Nguyen Filip and naturalized striker Nguyen Xuan Son among the top five most valuable players: Nguyen Filip: Valued at €550,000; Nguyen Xuan Son: Valued at €500,000.
