As part of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s 2026 inspection plan, the National Competition Commission issued Decision No. 235 imposing an administrative penalty on FPT Digital Retail Joint Stock Company (enterprise registration number 0311609355) for violations in the field of consumer rights protection.

FPT Retail was fined a total of approximately $15,300 for two violations.

Specifically, the company failed to register or re-register standard-form contracts and general transaction terms with the state authority responsible for consumer protection as required by regulations.

The retailer also misled consumers by providing incomplete or inaccurate information about the products, goods and services it sold or supplied.

The National Competition Commission said FPT Retail actively cooperated during the proceedings, promptly provided information and documents as requested, and proactively took measures to remedy the violations.

According to the commission, enforcement against such violations helps improve transparency in business activities and strengthen legal compliance among businesses and individuals. It also serves to prevent future violations and better protect consumers’ legitimate rights and interests.

In connection with consumer rights violations, the National Competition Commission has recently penalized a number of companies operating in retail, e-commerce, transportation and services, including Bamboo Airways, Lazada and Grab.
