FPT's CEO, Truong Dinh Anh, suddenly resigned on September 26, and will be replaced by the chairman of the company, Truong Gia Binh.

Truong Gia Binh to be FPT's CEO.
According to the Vietnamese IT giant, Truong Dinh Anh resigned due to differences of opinion on strategy and operating methods between him and the board of directors. They added that they regret his decision to resign.
Even though Anh will no longer be CEO, he will retain his place on the FPT board of directors, along with those of its retail, telecom and online subsidiaries.
Truong Gia Binh will serve as both chairman and CEO of FPT until final approval at the regular board meeting, to be held in early 2013.
As a co-founder and chairman of FPT, Binh also held the CEO position for over 20 years, from 1988 to 2009. He and the co-founders have developed FPT to one of the most successful IT and telecom corporations in Vietnam with a registered income of USD1 billion in 2008.
When Truong Dinh Anh asked for a two month leave of absence, rumours spread that he was leaving his position as CEO over a dispute with the directors board and because the business had not met its performance targets set early this year.
As of the end of August, FPT had made a pre-tax profit of VND1.5 trillion (USD74 million), and a net profit of VND956 billion, bringing their earnings per share to VND3,529.
