L’Amour Toujous concert will take place on Saturday night in HCMC’s District 3, featuring romantic pieces by Haydn, Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns, Rachmaninoff, Squire and Vivaldi.

Admission is free for the concert at the Southern Women’s Museum at 202 Vo Thi Sau Street from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The first part of the program features two pieces by Franz Joseph Haydn, including Arietta con variazioni in A Major, Hob. XVII:2 and Keyboard Sonata No. 59 in E flat, Hob. XVI:49 respectively by pianists Ho Khanh Van and Thai Ngoc Thuy Trang.
Variations on Alyabyev’s Romance “The Nightingale” by Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka will be played by Nguyen Quy Huu Minh and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Vocalise” from 14 Romances, Op. 34 will be performed by cellist Vo Le Minh Thu and piano accompanist Nguyen Lu Hiep.
The concert’s second part showcases Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto No. 1 in E major, Op. 8, RV 269: “La primavera” by the Swinging Strings and Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 49, II. Andante con moto tranquillo by pianist Nguyen Lu Hiep, violinist Bui Sy Nguyen and cellist Vo Le Minh Thu.
Pianist Nguyen Ngoc Bao Minh will contribute two pieces of Etudes-tableaux, Op. 33 No. 9 in C-sharp minor by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Sonatina in C major, Op. 36 No. 3 by Muzio Clementi.
Camille Saint-Saëns’s “Le Cygne” from “Le carnaval des animaux” and William Henry Squire’s Tarantella, Op. 23 will be played by cellist Lai Huy Hoang and piano accompanist Nguyen Lu Hiep. The last two pieces of the show, Romance in F Minor, Op. 5 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Paraphrase de Concert sur “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi / arr. Ferenc Liszt are respectively played by Hoang Ngoc Dan Thy and Dang Duy Nguyen.
The event is organized by Nhom ban yeu nhac co dien Sai Gon (Saigon Classic Music Group), a hub for young artists and enthusiasts to nurture their love for classical music and master skills and knowledge, and promote classical music in the community via a series of high standard concerts, music talks and exchanges.
