A concert titled and Romanticism will be held at 7pm on May 28 at the Southern Vietnam Women Museum in 202 Vo Thi Sau Street, District 3.
Like other art forms, such as architecture, literature and philosophy, music has also witnessed different stages of development in its history.
The Enlightenment period, which falls between the Baroque and the pre-classical periods, and the Romanticism era have contributed significantly to the development of classical music.
Music lovers will be treated to celebrated classical music works, such as Prelude BWV. 1006 by Johann Sebastian Bach, Impromptu Op. 90 No. 2 by Franz Schubert and Sonatina Meridional by Manuel M. Ponce.
The concert is being performed by the Sài Gòn group of classical music lovers and students of the Conservatory of HCM City under the guidance of the conservatory’s lecturers.
Canadian violinist Véronique Mathieu, who won the Eckhardt-Gramatte National Music Competition in 2012, will also perform at the concert.
