2015 Vietnam Movie Day (on March 15) featuring free screenings, seminars and discussions between artists, film producers and moviegoers, will be held by the Vietnam Cinema Association.

The association’s members will have a chance to get a visit to Long An Province’s Moc Hoa District for screenings and meeting with local audiences as well as make a video clip honoring People’s Artists Ngo Manh Lan and Nguyen The Anh.

Vietnam Movie Day is one of significant events to showcase the achievements of the local movie industry and honor outstanding contributions of artists in bringing Vietnamese films to the world.

In addition, the annual movie award by the Vietnam Cinema Association- 2014 Kite Award, that honors Vietnam’s best filmmakers will take place in Ho Chi Minh City starting March 8-13.

Three film essays and 137 films will be judged for the national film awards, including 17 featured films, 18 TV serials, 7 short TV serials, 14 cartoon movies, 4 celluloid documentaries, 48 video documentaries, 7 science documentaries and 29 short films;

In HCMC, nominated film screenings will be held at cinemas, including CGV Thao Dien in District 2, BHD Star Pham Hung in Binh Chanh District, Tan Son Nhat Cultural House in Tan Binh District starting March 5.

The award ceremony of the 2015 Kite Award and the celebration of Vietnam Movie Day will be organized at Queen Hall Convention Center in District 4 on March 12.
